My Henna is Here!

Hola lindas! So I have heard so much about the wonders of henna that I have decided to order me some from Henna for Hair. It came in the mail earlier last week. I am BEYOND excited. I will get to working on this this coming weekend.

In the mean time I have been researcher how I want to apply the product. I am not applying it for color, but for conditioning. My hair is so dark I dont expect it to color much anyways.

I think I am going to go with the following recipe:

1/4 cup henna powder
1 tbsp honey
1teaspoon olive oil
lemon juice
water to make it pasty (not sure how much yet)

When I do it this weekend I will let you all know how it turns out!

I do have a few concerns though. I have heard henna will loosen curls somewhat. I don't want my curls to be loosened. Hopefully it won't happen to me. Time will tell.

  1. Henna lightened my hair a bit even after the first time. I have extremely coily hair and I haven't noticed and loosening yet. Also, if you plan to leave the henna on for several hours, you might wat to leave out the lemon juice and boil green tea bags and mix it with that instead of water. For my mix, I use about a cup of henna because I want it to saturate my hair, as much honey as I want and green tea to replace plain water. Mine is usually the consistency of maybe tomato paste or able to drip off the spoon but not watery. You really can't mess up with henna...trial and error. It will stain your counter tops and clothes if you don't wash it off immediately

  2. Hmmmm. Ok I will take your advice. I have saw on the internet other people saying they use green tea. Is there a particulat reason to use green tea?

    Thanks for the tips!
