Headwraps!!!

I'm sorta kinda getting the hang of this head wrapping business!!! I have been motivated because it has been extra cold in Nashville lately. I normally do a turban type style.  Here are some of my looks:

Crochet Braids using Water Wave by Model Model

So I returned from my trip and my hair was a matted mess. As soon as I got back to Nashville I took the bus to Atl to hang with my boo. I really wanted to redo my hair so I took my weave and other hair supplies with me. I wanted to install another set of crochet braids, but I don't know how to braid. Luckily when I cut out the Gogo Curl hair my braids were still intact! So I just put in the hair on the old braids. Based on my pattern I think I will keep these about three weeks.

At first I was very self conscious about doing my hair at my BF house. I felt kinda weird about him seeing me with my braids and putting in my weave. But I figure  he has sisters and a mom, he has seen it before and he may as well get used to it lol.

This hair was easy to install, I used 4 packs cut in half, and I did not have the loose knots issue due to the hair being kinkier. We will see how it holds up. I think after this I am done with crochet braids for a while.

Has your significant other ever saw you in the process of getting your hair done? How did you feel about it?

Crochet Braids using Gogo Curl by Freetress

Gogo Curl Fretless Crochet braids

I installed this set on Jan 5. I took out my last set due to the braids being loose underneath. I really liked how it looked, but due to the bad foundation, the style had to be taken down prematurely.

Me cutting the braids out.

I got Lola to braid my hair. She is African so you know she did a good job!

It hurt! I'm joking, It did not hurt...that much.

Finished braids. I like to have my "baby hair" left out to prevent hairline breakage.

Next I installed the hair. It is called GoGo Curl by Freetress.

Day 1

Day 3

I have very mixed feelings about this hair. I think it is beautiful. On the other hand I had some serious problems with it. One problem I had was the knots at the bas of my hair coming loose.

Loose knots.
I tried to double and triple knot, tie it down, I tried several methods. The hair is too loose to knot effectively. I saw online that some people used spritz or glue to keep the knots in place. Maybe I will try that next time. Everyday I had to tighten up loosed knots. Eventually the hair became so tangled that I did not even need to tighten the knots anymore.

Which leads to my second issue with the hair. It tangles to easily. Now, I am a get up and go type person. I did not sleep with a satin scarf over this. I did not brush it or comb it, or even wash it. It is a weave so I feel it should be low maintence. After the third week I had to cut off chunks of the hair.

Week One

Week Two

As you can see by week two the hair looked less fuller because some of it was matted and knotted. Week Three it looked a total hot mess and I took it down.

Would I buy Gogo Curl again? Nope. But, it was cute while it lasted.

Crochet Braids Week One Update

I EFFIN LOVE THIS HAIR! It is so easy to deal with. Basically I just get up and go. I have had a few problems.

Hair slipping out. This is mainly due to the fact that I did a super quick installation. Some people double knot. I did not. I know that when you don't double know it makes it easier for the hair to slip. It has only been three strands.

My braids underneath are coming out. I knew this would happen because I am a terrible braider. I am hoping I can make it last for three weeks. We will see.

I have a few frizzies but I don't consider this a problem. It makes the hair look more natural!

Other than that...these are great! Here are a few pics of me and my peeps out on the town. We went to Kocktails and Koture in Nashville. The food was bleh.  Very few vegetarian options. They managed to mess up fries. How can you mess up fries! They dipped them in duck fat which gave them a weird smell. But the music was bangin'! They were playing all old school music such as Sam Cooke "Twisting the Night Away" and Frankie Lymon "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" and Etta James. I was singing all night! That would be the only reason i would go there.

Next we went to WKND on Church Street. The music there was updated and also good. They play some old school hits like "Can We Talk" by Teving Campbell. They also played "Drunk in Love" By Beyonce which sounds really nice in the club. I also tried hookah for the first time which was a massive fail.

Hookah fail. It burned!

Super Easy Two Strand Flat Twist Protective Style

I originally found this hairstyle on YouTube. The girl who was in the vid had hair that was super long to her knees so I was not sure if this would work for me. I tried it about a month ago and could not make it work. I tried it again on Friday and it worked! So ladies don't give up on hair styles. My hair is between 6.5 and 7 inches. So it is not that long. It was super easy too. The tutorial is below.

So this is my first tutorial video. It has some issues in the beginning. I don't know what happened lol. This video actually shows the second time I did it. I did it way better the first time so I need to start taping the first time I do hair styles. Hope you enjoy!

Chunky Flat Twist Updo

This weekend I did a flat twist updo. I recently learned how to do flat twists so I am really excited about adding them to my styling regimen. I think they are cute, and they fall into the protective styling catergory.

On Friday I attempted to do something to my hair that I will not mention but long story short my hair ended up in a puff.

Here is the tutorial:

You all should try this hairstyle! It is really easy and lasts a while.
