Havana Twists Update

So for now I have been doing twists pretty consistently (EXCEPT FOR THAT MONTH WHERE IT WAS 100 DEGREES CONSISTENTLY FOR ABOUT 10 DAYS). I attempted to do Havana Twists with some Naffy Collection hair but it did not turn out quite right.

I have discovered through another blog the actually website where you can actually buy the Havana Hair.. I am gonna order some in about a month.

So when I order the hair I will let you all know how it turns out. Also, my hair is about 4 inches now. I am on track to have 6 inches of hair by Jan 2013....

Kinky Twists update

So yeah, I LOVE the twists. They are super easy to take care of, they swing, they can be used as a pillow, i can use them to hit people.... So many pluses.

The pics above are me with my dance group Nashville Rueda. I am the one in the middle.

I have been having a few problems though....

 First they keep on slipping out the back. I guess this is due to my hair being super short in the back. Plus the texture is a lot straighter and finer back there. Also I am getting kinda bored with them. And when I washed my hair they were soooo heavy. I had to take a few out and do them over b/c they had slipped some.

So I am going to try Afro Puffy twists next. I ordered hair Nafy Afro Puffy Hair. It should come in a few days! I am super excited to see what new hair adventures I will have. I am going to attempt to do some "Havana twists". If my hair is not long enough for this then I will just do some really thick twists.

March 22 2012...Nothing New

Yeah. It has been a while.

Honestly, I did not have anything to post. I had a TWA. It was growing. That was pretty much it.

 However, I now have some kinky twists in my hair. They took three days. lol. I used five bags of hair. I plan on keeping them a while. I wanna grow my hair back out. So here are the pics.

I was thinking of getting these glasses. What do you all think?

September 10, 2011...Channeling My Inner Amber Rose

Nothing much is new. Still blonde.

I have had a hair cut since i did the first big chop. Today i am going to teach my dance class. I decided to put on some red lipstick with my houndstooth dress I ordered from ASOS.com. I LOVE that site by the way.

 Anywho....yeah, that's it.

July 20, 2011...I Need Some Color

Sooooooo I got bored. Yep I am a blonde now. I like it tho. I used Dark and Lovely Fade-Resistant Rich Conditioning Color Permanent Hair Color, 396 Luminous Blonde. You know this is bad for your hair cause the box said DO NOT use if you have chemicals on your hair....

July 18, 2011 BIG CHOP!!!!

 Le Sigh...it is time. I did another big chop. I did it because I was tired of my hair maintenece. I was actually seeing growth, it was down my back, but the upkeep was too much. Too much shea butter, olive oil, combing, twisting, protecting...too much. Natural hair is supposed to give me freedom, I was being locked in a upkeep routine. Also the hair color made my hair really dry and brittle. I knew that this would happen which is why I colored it cause I have been wanting to BC for a while.

So for now, It is gone.

The next pic was right after the big chop, which I did with scissors the day I took my braids down. I look pretty homeless lol.

Next this is my first wash with my big chop. It felt great :-)

Last pic, I put on a little makeup and was out for the evening. Got lots of compliments, and my BF likes it! But he pretty much like everything I do....I am lucky for that lol.

July 16, 2011 Braids

Last day with the braids. I could not come up with any creative structural way to do the loose ends so i just let them hang. I acutally liked the style the best.

July 14, 2011...Braid Rings

Day three of my experimenting with the braids. Today i rolled up the back again but instead made three loops at the top. I used bobbby pins to hold them in place. This is borderline ghetto lol.

July 13, 2011...Braided Spiral Galaxy

So of course I have to experiment with different hair styles...this one I call "Spiral Galaxy".

I just rolled up the back to the front and coiled the loose ends on my forehead. Another braided Mohawk style.

July 12 2011...I've Got Braids!!!

My boyfreinds sister came in from africa so of course I had to have her do me some braids!

They are going to the back and loose in teh middle. And she was such a great braider. Did not even hurt.
